Update from the Technion

Shalom to the Technion family,

Following the updated guidelines from the Home Front Command and the return to routine in the Haifa area, all activities at the Technion campuses in Haifa and Tel Aviv, except for exams, will resume as usual tomorrow (Monday, August 26).

The exams scheduled for today (Sunday, August 25) and tomorrow (Monday, August 26) will be rescheduled. The new dates will be announced shortly.

Shalom to the Technion family,

Due to recent security incidents and in accordance with the Home Front Command’s instructions, the Technion management is closely monitoring the situation and preparing for various scenarios. All shelters and protected spaces on campus have been opened, and a situation room has been established to manage the campus with the participation of all relevant entities.

Here are some important announcements:

  • Today, August 25, there will be no classes, exams, or work at the Technion campuses in Haifa and Tel Aviv. If possible, today’s lessons will be conducted digitally.
  • Teaching staff are requested to send Zoom meeting links to students via the course Moodle website and to record the sessions for students who are unable to attend the online format.
  • Exams scheduled for today (Sunday, August 25) and tomorrow (Monday, August 26) will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date. Further updates will be provided in a detailed announcement.
  • Work at the Technion will be conducted remotely to the extent possible.
  • The sports center on campus is closed today, and all activities are suspended.
  • Cable car operations have been suspended until further notice.
  • We strongly advise everyone to prepare for emergencies and review relevant procedures. Please familiarize yourself with the nearest protected spaces.

  • Following a significant increase in cyber-attack alerts, and in coordination with the National Cyber Directorate and other academic institutions, access to Technion systems has been limited. Overseas users may experience disruptions.
